I have no idea what the actual stats are on this, but is it just me, or do a high percentage sayings and quotes have to do with time and/or the passage of it?
“Time waits for no man.”
“Time heals all wounds.”
“Time is an illusion.”
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…”
Time is called a gift, a thief, and it flies when you are having fun.
So my question is, “How is it already this deep into August?!” I guess the truth is that time flies when you have a lot going on. Somewhere between graduating a senior, selling a house, moving across the country, and setting up a house, time didn’t just fly. It disappeared.
I mean, really. Does anyone know what happened to June? I’m thinking we should put out an APB. I kind of remember July. We took a couple of vacations and had some family visits. Lovely times, and I’m thankful.
And now it’s the past the middle of August. My husband has disappeared (not really – just kind of) with his football team, and my youngest (Isaiah) is practicing football himself. We are busy getting some things set up for Noah and getting Eli started in college.
And now it is time for actual football games.
I’m going to make a choice here. I’m going to take some deep breaths and slow down some. I’m going to look around and soak up time with my family. Because for my family, time in the fall is measured in football games, and if time flies when you are having fun, football season is a jet pack.
So breathe with me and don’t forget to look around today for the joy.
