I hesitated to tell this story for, like, 10 seconds, because it is a little crass, and it involves Noah having a seizure. But It’s so classically “Noah” that I cannot help myself. Mom, if you keep reading past this point, don’t fuss at me. I warned you.

You have to understand that there are several things that can cause Noah to have a seizure like a sharp pain, a really loud noise, or a sudden noise. Therefore, we try to warn Noah if we are going to start the blender, or clear our throats, or some such noise that everyone else would ignore.

Unfortunately, when we were in the car yesterday, Isaiah didn’t warn Noah about the sound that was coming. In his defense (if this is in any way defensible), he didn’t realize it would be so sudden, or so loud. I quickly, and for selfish reasons, wished he hadn’t allowed the noise at all.

In short, Isaiah cut a very loud fart that no one was expecting, evidently not even himself. I would have chided him for it, but immediately Noah’s hands splayed out, his chin jutted forward, and his face started twitching. It didn’t last long, and it ended with a big grin.

“Noah, did Isaiah just cause you to seize with a fart?!! I asked a little incredulously.

In answer, Noah busted out laughing. Then Isaiah and I joined in. What else can you do?

Today, I revisited the whole thing and asked Noah again if a fart had really caused him to have a seizure. And he busted out laughing again. That’s just the kind of sense of humor he has.

Anyway, mom, if you’ve gotten this far, I did try to warn you.
